What Is The Plot Of The Story "Devilish" By Jo Beverley?

In this story,  "Devilish," the Marquess of Rothgar has been tensed his whole life, due to the fact that his mother turned mad and killed his small baby sister. Knowing this, he decided not to marry, but things change when he meets Lady Arradale. Diana of Arradale is a different person, with rarely seen nature, with unusual power and supremacy for a woman.

However she thinks that if she marries, she will lose her independence. But as soon as she sees the  Marquess for the first time, she gets tempted. She is sexually attracted to him and desires to have him. She thinks that it would be safe if he is not looking for her wealth and power. However, both decide to part ways. The king, however is worried by the thought that he would stand to lose a woman of powerful stature. So he commands Rothgar to take her to London.
