It can. If you drink a lot of soda, you can get a burning sensation in the stomach or acid reflux. However, it could be a number of other things. I recommend you try laying off anything carbonated or really acidic for a few days and see if that helps. If the burning continues I recommend seeing a doctor about it because it may be something else causing it.
