Is There Any Gluten-free Beer Or Ale On The Market?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Gluten-free beer contains ingredients that make it suitable for people with a variety of gluten intolerance conditions. Ordinary beer contains glycoproteins which cause autoimmune responses that lead to more damaging conditions. People with gluten intolerance, such as coeliacs, react to the hordein found in beer. Gluten-free beer is  used by multiple sclerosis sufferers who require a gluten-free diet.

Almost all beer contains amounts of gluten that a coeliac cannot tolerate. However, a small number of specialist breweries do produce beer that is suitable for those that suffer from autoimmune reponses to gluten.

There are a number of people who are working to create gluten-free beer. Gluten-free ales and lagers have recently been developed, earning positive response from people who suffer gluten intolerent conditions.

There is now a variety of gluten-free ales and lagers to choose from, as gluten-free beer is becoming more frequently available.
