Does Anyone Can Give Information About Confidentiality Role Of A Classroom Assistant?

Answer Question

This code of ethics requires classroom teachers "respect the private nature of the special knowledge they have about students and their families and use that knowledge only in the students' best interests."

As tempting as it is to comment or tell stories about students in the classroom, I consider that a violation of the trust the student(s) and the classroom teacher may have in their classroom assistant. Such stories have a way of "getting around" and can irreparably damage the fragile self image of a student and/or destroy the trust the parents may have in the school and the teacher. "What is heard/seen in the classroom stays in the classroom."

On the other hand, if you know of, or suspect, illegal activity, including child-beating, rape, kidnapping, or other harm to the child, in some US states you have a legal requirement to report it to authorities. I do not know the legal requirements in India.
