An electoral register will be made by your city council and comprises of the names of all the residents which are collected with the help of an annual audit during the autumn. The final registered is made on the 1st of December and you can check the register to see if your name is there on it. The edited registered can be viewed by you to check your name and details at the electoral office of the city council.

There is an edited register and a full register. An edited register is available for sale at the city council office which has the details of all members who now have the right to vote. There is an option for you to "opt out" which means that your address will not appear on the edited register. If you want to view the full register, you will have to take an appointed at one of the city council offices as it is not available for sale and is comparatively lengthy.
