The monochromatic color scheme uses variations in the lightness and saturation of a single color. This scheme looks very clean and elegant. Monochromatic colors go well together and produce soothing effect. The monochromatic scheme is easy on the eyes, especially with blue or green hues. You can also use it to establish an overall mood.

It is using a palette of all one color. For instance if you use red as your color. Rose, Blood, Cherry, Apple, Maroon, would all fall under that same basic red scheme. Or if in cloth often you can use the same color but different textures. Ie. All black, all gray/silver, etc.
