What About Cholesterol?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Cholesterol is a fatty substance which is necessary for every individual. Cholesterol is main source of all hormones because this is converted in to pregnenolone which is precursor of all hormones. We get cholesterol by 2 ways like through foods and its production from liver. Normal quantities of cholesterol don't harm but excess amounts of these fatty substances can deposit in the blood vessels and on the abdomen. These deposits are dangerous because can cause cardiovascular diseases. There are many types of cholesterol but 2 are more important. LDL is bad cholesterol and its levels should remain under control. HDL is good cholesterol and its levels should be more than 40 and ideally above 60. Increased physical activities and low fats diet can control the cholesterol levels.
