Who Is Nick Danziger?

    Nick Danziger is an author who grew up in Switzerland before going to Chelsea Art School in England, exhibiting in both London and New York. He initially worked as a visiting lecturer for art schools and universities, before winning the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Fellowship in 1982. This commissioned his first novel Danziger´s Travels which detailed his travel to ancient trade routes in Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and China. His second book entitled Danziger´s Adventures; from Miami to Kabul charted his second such adventurous journey.

    Nick Danziger made a successful documentary film in 1991 called War, Lives and Videotape, based on children abandoned in Kabul mental asylums, for which he won the Prix Italia award for best television documentary. His photographs from his travels are widely exhibited, and he enjoyed the position of Fellow in Photography in Bradford colleges and museums during 1994. He wrote two series for the BBC, the second of which The Fight For Hearts and minds was nominated for the Griegson Award. He was also nominated in the same year for the Journalist of the Year by the Royal Television Society.
