Acute myocardial infarction famously known as Heart Attack happens when the blood flow to a part of the heart is broken up, which results in the death of heart tissues. Heart attacks are usually commonly indicated by acute chest pain.

A heart attack is a very widespread medical emergency, basic heart attack treatment is a regular part of first aid courses. In case of a heart attack do the following: First of all seek immediate medical help. Then put the patient in a posture which will reduce his breathing difficulties, best suited posture is half-sitting with knees bent. Open up all windows and doors for the flow of oxygen but be sure that the patient stays warm by wrapping a jacket or coat around him.

Next if the patient is not allergic to Aspirin, give him one. Aspirins have the antiplatelet effect which blocks the further formation of blood clots. Keep monitoring the pulse rate, breathing and consciousness of the patient, if you know how to check blood pressure do that even on regular intervals.
