What Did G.I. Originally Stand For On The Uniform Oa American Military?

    Originally it cam from the 1st WW and meant  Galvanized Iron, but most people think it means Government Issued because when you got in to the army every thing got taken away from you and every thing you got was Government Issued .

      G.I. Came from WWI and stood for "government issue"
