What Was The Book "River God" By Wilbur Smith All About?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Here is Wilbur Smith at his fictional best. A book that is first in the Egyptian series written by him. This particular work of fiction at its best/height was written in the year 1993. It went a little astray from his main setting of Southern Africa and the reader finds himself in ancient Egypt near about the time of 1780 BCE and in the land of the Pharaohs. People are given a glimpse of what a soap opera would have been like if the Pharaoh, his adulterous wife, loyal yet cheating army men, covering up ministers and invading enemies were thrown in as cast members.

The usual characteristic plot of the naΓ―ve Pharaoh who thinks that his wife's child is his own and the Eunuch Minister or Aide-de-camp: Taita (the protagonist of the play) who covers it up; are just part of the seemingly endless and deep personalities around whom the plot revolves.
