What Is Lunar Calender?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The lunar calendar can be explained, keeping in mind the various kinds of calendars available over the times. A number of lunar calendars are also known as luni-solar, like the ones in used in China are known as Chinese calendar, Hebrew calendar, and also the Hindu calendar and also a number of other calendars all over the world and also the ones used in the ancient times.

Well the valid reason which could be given to the preference is that a year is not generally and not equally divisible by the whole and exact number of twelve of the lunation, so keeping this in knowledge the entire calendar of the year will automatically move according to the seasons without making any further changes or corrections to it. An Islamic calendar is the only one calendar prevailing all over the world, and is widely used too. It also consists of twelve lunations in total. And due to which it is mainly used for religious reasons, along with a secular solar calendar, and also that the Islamic festivals or celebrations are preformed generally with respect to these seasons in a full circle of thirty three years.
