What Is Strict Liability?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

A Strict Liability is basically a form of liability. A person who falls under this category of liability is actually completely responsible for the loss caused by his actions. This concept of personal liability is used mostly in cases of corporate law, criminal law and also in torts.

In cases of Criminal law, Strict liability is commonly used. The defendants in such cases are usually convicted even though they did not know about their acts being criminal.

Strict liability, sometimes called absolute liability, is the legal responsibility for "Damages or injury", even if the person found strictly liable was not at "fault or negligent".
