In astrology, they believe that certain signs are associated with either water, air, or earth signs.  Supposedly, earth and water don't mix, cause they make mud.  But I wouldn't put too much faith in these as every person has had different experiences in life which make them compatible.  Do not turn down a person only because of their birthdate.  Most astrologers use a computer program which is so broad, can be applied to anybody.  It's what you read into it.
