I Am Sick Of Wearing Glasses. Would Laser Surgery Help?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

First it is imortant to bear in mind that laser surgery, like all surgery does carry with it a risk.  Secondly, only people with short sight can have laser surgery and not all short sighted people will benefit from laser treatment., so you will have to be assessed by an eye surgeon.  If you have a condition known as astigmatism, it is unlikely that you will be able to have the procedure.
However, if an eye surgeon feels that you would benefit and you have it done, there is a 50-60% chance of perfect eye sight after the treatment and an 80-90% chance that you will have 6/12 vision which is enough to drive and play sports without glasses.
You will also have to pay for the procedure, so it is best to have your eyes assessed and then establish the cost etc so that you can ascertain whether you can afford it and if it is worth the effort.
