A panel is a group of experts or people who have some special knowledge of the chosen topic. They exchange views on the topic, usually in front of an audience who may have a chance to ask questions at some point. Most panels have a chair or other leader. A good example of TV panel discussion format is the BBC's Question Time (Thursday evenings.)
