Louisville is the largest city in the state of Kentucky. It is ranked wither as the 16th or the 27th largest city in the United States of America, all depending on the way the population is counted. The settlement of Louisville was founded in the year 1778 by George Roger Clarks. The city was named after King Louis XVI of France. Louisville is also home to the most famous "The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports", the Kentucky Derby.

It is situated on the north central Kentucky and on the Kentucky Indiana Border; it is the only natural hurdle in the Ohio River, The Falls of Ohio.
