Christian literature can be explained as a type of writing which is solely based on Christian themes and only deals with the Christian world view. It includes various forms of writing such as scriptures, non-fiction, fiction, poetry, theatre, film making etc. Christian literature in scriptures includes the retelling of the bible. Christian non-fiction includes letters, theological treatises, and other devotional works by Christian authors. Christian fiction refers to fiction books on Christian themes.

Some of the examples of such books include Paradise Lost, Dante's Inferno and The Pilgrim's progress. Christian Poetry can be explained as any poetry which contains teachings and themes of Christianity. Christian theatre also is nothing but drama or theatre which is based on Christian themes.

Christian film making is also concerned only with Christian themes or those films which revolve around Christianity. Thus all these put together makes Christian literature. A vast amount of literature comes under this category. G.K Chesterton, Janette Oke, C.S Lewis, Tim Haye etc are some of the authors of Christian literature.
