What's The Difference Between The Sources Of Energy Available?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

That's a huge question. A very basic overview night be:

    - fossil fuels. These are mainly coal, oil, gas and wood. They're the traditional fuels people have aways used -problems have arisen with supply (some resources or low or hard to get now) and also with pollution - there are so many of us now, burning a lot more fuel.

    - nuclear energy. Created by splitting uranium metals in a reactor, which produces radiation. People are still debating whether the benefits of this form of energy outweigh the dangers it can pose.

    - renewables. This includes things like solar, wind and water (hydroelectricity) sources. Again, there is a lot of argument - in this case, whether these sources can meet all our energy needs.

Other methods are being looked at too. There isn't space here to go into it, but you an get a good overview if you click here.
