What Was The Most Recent Ruling Of A United States Court Regarding Oath-taking?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Most recently a United States judge passed a ruling that empowered religious texts other than the Bible for the prospect of oath-taking by a witness or a juror in courtrooms.  This ruling was given by Judge Paul Ridgeway in the Superior Court in Wake County, North Carolina, something that resulted from the lawsuit challenge that was given to a state law, which was comprehended as giving the Bible the status of the only religious text to be used for the prospect of oath-taking.

The plaintiff whose name was Syedah Mateen declared that she desired to carry the act of oath-taking on a book that she verily believed in.  Meanwhile the state of North Carolina has a time period of 30 days for the prospect of appealing against the ruling or in the alternative case it would pave the path for Muslims all over the United States to swear on the Holy Quran in US Courtrooms.
