Who Was Big Jim?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Big Jim was introduced in 1973 and was Mattel's answer to Hasbro's popular G.I. Joe doll. G.I. Joe was this dark-haired, seven-inch-tall action figure notable for biceps that actually bulged when his arms were flexed. But unlike warmonger Joe, a "fighting man from head to toe", Big Jim was a big jock, who excelled in sporting activities such as football, basketball, baseball, soccer, karate, camping, scuba diving, arctic exploration, and being a cowboy.

Big Jim came with a variety of accessories, including a Corvette, a sports camper, a dune buggy, a speed boat, a safari boat, a karate studio, and an Olympic Ski run.

Big Jim had three loyal buddies who joined him on outdoor adventures. His buddies were bearded Big Josh, Blonde Big Jeff, and black Big Jack. Together, all four action figures went out and participated in a wide variety of sporting events.
