What Other Features Does Yahoo! Offer With Its Email Service?

As well as an email account, there is a service that enables you to compose text messages and receive SMS email alerts, but the service will be discontinued from 3rd April, 2007. However, you can still receive email alerts and other features using a wap-enabled phone. This will allow you to check your emails on your phone, use instant messaging, search images, receive news, a finance section, shopping, an address book and a calendar.

To set this up, you need to text a code to a number provided by Yahoo! and they will send you the link. You can access the information for wap by signing in to your yahoo! email and clicking the SMS Alerts section.

You also have the opportunity to upgrade your free email account to Yahoo! Mail Plus, which costs £11.99 a year. You can access the upgrade by logging in to your account and selecting the 'Mail Upgrades' link.
