What Are The Criteres To Obtain A Annulment In The Catholic Church?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

There is not a single criterea for obtaining an annulment.  There are many types of annulments  based upon many different facts of the marriage.
Are both Catholic?  Was the marriage performed in a Catholic Church?  Are both baptised, if so...in what faith?  The conditions of the marriage.  The ages of the bride and groom, etc.
Some annulments are simple and inexpensive.  They take a very short time to obtain.   Others are complicated, may be expensive and may take over one year to obtain.
You need to contact the priest, where you attend Mass, and speak to him about the circumstances of the marriage, and why you want an annulment.
If you are a practicing Catholic, your priest can help you so much, and may pay the cost or a portion of it to get the annulment.
