What Happens To A Cockatiel When Its Mate Dies?
My male bird died and I would like to know if the female will die also.

They can get very lonely when their mate dies. She may enjoy a new toy as a distraction. Make sure she continues to eat and drink well. Keep a close eye on her and make sure she doesn't start self mutilating I have seen so many do this when a mate dies. I would make a trip to the vet just to make sure she is healthy and that her mate died of natural causes. Birds become a part of the family as does any pet.
