What Was The Battle Of "Badr"?

The battle of "Badr" was the first battle which was fought between Muslims and Pagans of Mecca. It was fought after the year of migration to Medina. The date of this battle is in Ramadan second year of Hijrah. i.e 2 A.H. Whereas A.H stands for 'After Hijrah'. And hijrah means migration in Arabic. That indicates the migration of Muslims from Mecca to Medina.
Pagans of Mecca threatened Muslims and tried to finish them through different means and resources. Then they led a campaign for war against Muslims in the second year of migration which has already been mentioned above. The Meccans were numerous as compared to Muslims. They came in battlefield with one thousand soldiers and fighters while the Muslims were only 313. Meecans had all the means of good weapons of that time while Muslims were suffering not only with weapon shortage but also with the shortage of transportation and food. Muslims had only 2 horses and 8 swords in the total.
Then the war began and Muslim army defeated the pagans of Mecca. This was the first victory of Muslims on Pagans of Mecca. This war indicated that the Muslim fought with their true faith and their faith was true while the faith of polytheists was totally wrong.
According to Muslim religious scripture which is called The Holy Qur'an, Almighty God helped Muslims with an army of angels. Thus, the Muslims were victorious and pagans were defeated.
