Where Is Israel?

Israel is a country situated in the west Asia and is located on the southeastern edge of the Mediterranean Sea. Lebanon is at its north and Syria and Jordan are situated in the east. Egypt forms its south-west border.

The estimated population of the country in the year 2006 is 7,047,001 and the area of the country is 22,145 square kilometers. The capital and the largest city of the country is Jerusalem.

Israel has the distinction of being the only Jewish state on earth, though the people over here are of varied ethnicity. Some think tanks give the nation the tag of being the only liberal democratic state in the Middle East.

The cultural life of the nation is quite vibrant and it is one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world.
