Are Fox Terriers Brown And Black?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Genetically, Fox Terriers have base colors of either tan or black and tan. The white colouring that they sport comes from a "spotting gene". Though white is the predominant colour, liver, brindle and red is also seen but is considered to be an unpleasant deviant. The two types of Fox terrier are the smooth Fox terrier and the Wire Fox terrier. With the exception of their coat, they are completely similar. The Fox Terrier has strong jaws and well-developed teeth. This along with his physical strength and fearlessness makes him a very capable and formidable enemy. True to his terrier nature, the Fox terrier is ready to fly at anything that moves including water hoses and sprinklers.

Although this dog is not averse to street brawls, when groomed he is transformed into a very elegant and stylish little dog and his true nature is betrayed only by the lively, naughty glint in his eye.
