Why Are Marsupials Only Found In Australia?

    Australia, is not the only place with marsupials, the USA has a marsupial, it is called an opossum.

      The previous answer is correct as far as it goes. But maybe what you mean is why are so many different kinds of marsupials found in Australia and only a couple of different kinds of opossums found in North and South America.  The predominant theory is that marsupials are forerunners or at least a different branch from placental mammals and that Australia was separated from other landmasses while marsupials were the dominant types of mammals and that they never had to evolve to face competition from placental mammals.
