    Costessey basically is a civil parish located four mile west of Norwich in Norfolk, England. The parish encompasses of two settlements, the reputed village of Costessey and New Costessey which blossomed during the early twentieth century. These two settlements are divided by the River Tud and by arable grounds.

    Costessey parish has a total area of 12.39 square kilometres and according to the census conducted in the year 2001 it had a total population of 9822 comprising 4255 households. Costessey has the second largest population in the entire region. Costessey is based in the valleys of River Wensum and Tud.

    Archaeologists believe that there was a strong farming community in this region during the late Bronze Age and also during roman times. Many local shops and services have opened up in this region recently.
