I Have A Vomitting Bug. How In The World Do I Get Over It?

The official advice for children over 1 and adults is that you drink a tiny amount of water every 5 minutes (a thimble-full, 5ml, a tiny sip, that kind of thing). You do this for as long as it takes to feel much MUCH better. Eventually the vomitting will stop and the tummy bugs will be starved out. Typically, you can expect the bug to take 12-48 hours to clear. Dioralyte/rehydrating solution is ok, too. BUT NO OTHER FOOD (except breastmilk for babies is ok). Any other food just feeds the tummy bug, not the person. Start again with a small amount of bland food (like some plain toast).

My advice, if you're generally healthy, is to start by drinking as much water as you can stomach. This will make you vomit -- that's fine. You're clearing your stomach of any food that the tummy bugs would otherwise feast on. When you reach the point of dry-heaving, THEN switch to sparrow sips of water until you're climbing the walls with hunger. In my experience, this will clear the tummy bug in about 5 hours. Start by eating a little bit of anything that's not too painful to sick back up. Wait as long as you can bear it before eating anything else, then (assuming you haven't been sick again) eat whatever you like.
