What Is The Best Age To Adopt A Cat -- As A Kitten, As A Young Adult, Or As A Senior Cat? Does It Make A Difference If You Have Another Cat?
Answers
Kittens are better received if you have another cat usually. Because the older cat knows what a kitten is, and they tend to display more patience with them rather than hurting them. All cats adapt very well given time. Sometimes you get a cat that just refuses to have another cat in their territory. That is when you don't want to introduce another one. But the only way that you can find that out is to try it. But if you have an older cat, then introduce a kitten first, and see how it goes.
There is also something else, a thing that some people don't think about, if the older cat passes, you have the younger cat around, and they can ease a lot of the pain that you might be dealing with in the loss. They are great comforters and companions. If you have them fixed, they are more loyal, and better behaved. Good luck in your decision, and I hope this helped you out.

my last 2 kitties have been adult cats when I adopted them, and they were great- already litter trained, and still playful without being destructive. kittens are great, but need more attention. it can be tricky to bring a new cat into a house with one already. we did this once, and the older kitty gave me a black eye- true!
