Can You Tell Me Lots About Mirrors?

Answer Question

A mirror is an object that has a surface so smooth that it can form an image of the objects on it. If you go back a very long time ago, people used to se their reflection in water or in polished stone. Now a day, mirror is manufactured in factories and the most common way to make mirrors is to cover glass with a reflective coating which is made out of chemical element known as ‘silver’. In old times, mirrors were so expensive that very few people could afford them but the method to make mirrors from glass was discovered in the 16th century. The images formed in the mirror are virtual images; they are of the same size and shape. Other than plane mirror, there are convex and concave mirrors as well. When a light beam falls on the mirror at a certain angle, the mirror is so smooth that it is reflected at exactly the same angle and hence we see a perfect virtual image. There are also two way mirrors, from one side it is a mirror, from the other it’s like a window and you can see everything. Mirrors are used in equipment like televisions and telescopes.
