    Stefano Baldini, an Italian athlete, was the winner of a gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics which were held in Athens, Greece on August 29, 2004. He won the gold medal in the marathon, which is his key event.

    The athlete came into this world on May 25, 1971 in the commune of Castelnovo di Sotto, in Emilia-Romagna in Italy.

    In addition he is also the winner of the bronze medal in the marathon at the 2001 World Championships in Athletics which was commemorated in Edmonton in Alberta in Canada. He also won the bronze at the 2003 World Championships in Athletics which took place at Saint-Denis in France. In the year 1996, he was also the winner of the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships.
