Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The size of the pitch on which cricket is played varies from ground to ground, but the pitch is always rectangular in shape and covers an area of 22 yards (in terms of the length) and ten feet (in terms of the width). When the length and width of a cricket pitch are measured in terms of metres, it is 20.12 metres long and 3.05 metres wide.

The popping crease, which is also called the batting crease, is marked at a distance of approximately 1.22 metres in front of the stumps at both ends. The stumps are set along the bowling crease. The return creases at located at right angles to the popping crease and the bowling crease. They are measured at a distance of 1.32 metres on either side of the two middle stumps.
