Why Graphite Is Used As A Lubricants?

    Graphite is an allotrope of carbon....... Its other allotrope is diamond.......graphite is completely opposite to diamond, its too brittle and breaks to powder easily.....due to this property of graphite it makes graphite an extraordinary solid lubricant......... And thus they readily form powders and fill up the uneven surfaces........
