Has Anyone Else Had This Experience?

I'm 50 with uterine fibroids that cause lots of pain and bleeding. I was recently put on the pill and an iron supplement in preparation for the UFE procedure down the road. The pill increased the bleeding and I stopped taking it after 60 days. I have now been bleeding daily for 4 weeks. I have a call into my MD and an appointment with her in next two weeks. I don't want to take a depot provera shot but may have to try that since the pill didn't work. My insurance doesn't cover treatment!

If your insurance does not cover this treatment, you should talk to your MD straight away. Tell him the seriousness of the pain and bleeding, i am sure he will help you out in some way. You need to have the treatment immediately.

Thanks for your response.  I have been upfront about my insurance situation.  I am very nervous about depo provera after reading some of the risks/side effects.  I may have to have a shot in the short term to stop the bleeding/pain and work my way to the UFE procedure.  That's the procedure I really want and think is my best option.
