What Was 'Legend'?

Legend was a fantasy film which was released in 1985. The film's protagonist is Jack, a boy who meets with Princess Lily and takes her to see the only two remaining unicorns. Lily touches one of the unicorns, and when a group of goblins, sent by the Lord of Darkness, remove the horn of the male unicorn, the world freezes over.

The other unicorn is kidnapped and so is Lily. Both are taken to the Lord of Darkness and it is up to Jack, along with other characters who he meets on the way, to save them before the world is covered by darkness.

The film was not a major success when it was first reelased, but it has become a classic, and a director's cut was released in 2002 (a large amount was cut from the film for domestic release).

The film starred Tom Cruise as Jack, Mia Sara as Lily and Tim Curry as the Lord of Darkness.
