This is something which many people are afraid of, and when you think of older people, you often think of false teeth. However, growing older does not necessarily mean you will lose your teeth; it all depends upon how well you have looked after them over the years and how well you carry on looking after them.

There are certain factors which can cause you to lose your teeth when you get older, including smoking. Smoking really does damage the teeth and through years of abuse, it is entirely possible for them to fall out or need to be taken out. If you are concerned about losing your teeth, you should speak to your dentist who will be able to give you tips on how to look after them properly and keep them healthy.

Even if you do lose your teeth it is not the end of the world. There are plenty of good dentures and denture creams to keep them in place that these days you cannot tell the difference between real teeth and false ones. However, overall growing older does not automatically mean that you will lose your teeth.
