The writer Lincoln Child worked with a publishing company and was the editor of the company named St. Martin's Press. With reviewing and editing books, he got inspired to write books himself. He was quite keenly interested in the topic American museum Natural History.

Thus the day he was simply researching on the museum, he found several articles written by Douglas Preston, back then an employee, very interesting. Thus fixing an appointment with Douglas, Child got together with the museum employee and from there on began the journey of these two writers career.

The first book that Lincoln published was titled Dinosaurs in the Attic with Douglas's help but thereafter the next book, both the writers pitched in their thoughts and ideas for the best selling book and today a featured movie, titled Relic.
