Generally, I would say that the only time I ever listen to techno or the type of music that is all beat and no meaning is at the gym. It can help raise your game and it doesn't require much thought or have any emotional connections that might put you off your stroke so to speak.
A favourite of mine is the Eye of the Tiger from the Rocky movies, also the Burning Heart and Hearts on Fire from the Rocky films.
I also like to use Eminem and 50 cent, something with a bit of anger and bite for the treadmill.
I find pretty much anything from Fat Boy Slim will work from Praise You to Right Here Right Now.
ITunes doesn't appear to sell and good collections of gym music which is a shame. Most gyms seem to pump out their own music far too loud and it gives the place the feel of an empty nightclub with no booze but the same amount of sweat!

Get free tunes by searching on google for
1/ imesh
2/ blubster
3/ limewire
I sometimes use limewire as it has the biggest collection of songs and it can be downloaded onto your pc in less than 2 minutes but I always delete limewire after 14 days tops as i seem to get spyware but if you delete within 14 days then you don`t get any spyware , so delete and then download again.
Some great songs are
The Jam `going underground`
Womack and Womack `footsteps`
Europe `the final countdown`
Def Leppard `animal`
Pulp `sorted for e`s`
Bon Jovi `you give love a bad name`
Meatloaf `deadringer for love`
Gun`s N Roses `welcome to the jungle`
Some more up to date tunes are
Cascada - all the songs are brilliant so not going to say just one
Scooter versus Status Quo - this is quality, an old status quo record sung by Status Quo and Scooter
Scooter - again all the records are class
I hope you like the list
