If she has an injury that is producing pus, then she has an infection.... Is an infection isn't treated it can eventually enter the blood stream and cause blood poisoning (Septicemia). If it's not "really bad" (fairly small.. Localized).. It just needs to be opened up and cleaned out, then packed with an antibiotic ointment or powder (neosporin, polysporin.. Etc.) until it starts to heal properly. This is best done by a professional, but if your dog will let you, and you can be very careful not to cause more pain than necessary you can do it yourself. If it is "really bad" (angry, red, spreading...), then she's going to need oral antibiotics to help fight the infection and you'll need to contact the vet.
