The opposition to the flow of current in a circuit is known as resistance. The symbol used for resistance is 'R'.
Voltage = Resistance * current
Resistance = Voltage / Current
The unit of resistance is ohm. If a potential difference of one volt is applied across a circuit and a current of one ampere flows through the circuit then, the resistance in the circuit is one ohm.
Unit of resistance = unit of voltage/ unit of current
Ohm = Volt/ ampere
Voltage = Resistance * current
