    Does The Mileage Reimbursement Cover Home To Job Site And Job Site To Work? Where Would You Have To Drive To Work Anyway?

    In California, If an employee leaves her house in the morning and on her way to work goes to a property for an inspection. Then after the inspection drives to work. Is she to be reimbursed for the trip to work miles in miles being reimbursed?

    In my state I would have been paid just for the extra mileage to the inspection location and back to the normal route, or in other words:
    Total miles driven from home to work (including side job) minus normal one way distance to work.
     
    May depend on when your day starts for pay purposes.  If you started work as soon as you left home, It may be totally paid. 
     
    Sorry for the wishy washy answer but it depends on state policy.
