They help in the normal growth of the body and mind. Their absence causes serious health problem. Vitamins are of two kinds fat-soluble and water soluble. Vitamins A.D and E are fat soluble vitamins.

    Vitamin A is present in large quantities in cod liver oil. It is also present in small amounts in butter and green vegetables. Absence of this vitamin from the diet results in stunted growth. Sometimes it deficiency causes problems of eye and eye sight.

    Vitamin D is also found in cod liver oil and in small amounts in other animal fats. Its absence from the food disturb the development of bones and causes rickets. Sunlight also produces vitamin D in skin.

    Vitamin E is known as a source of strength of fertility. Its absence from diet badly affects reproduction system of animals and makes them completely impotent. Female animals also become unproductive. All these disorders can be corrected by adding vitamin E to the diet. It is particularly found in leaves and seeds. Wheat oil is very useful for childless couples.
