    The refractive index for light is the ratio of the speed of light in some reference medium to the speed in the diamond.

    c/2 = (299,792,458 m/s)/2 = 149,896,229 meters per second
    This is assuming the refractive index number is good to 9 significant digits. Otherwise, about 1.5*108 meters per second.
