What Do You Know About The Dutch Painter Johannes Vermeer?

Johannes Vermeer was a Dutch painter who was born on 31st of October in the year of 1632. He was born in Delft. Johannes parents were tavern keepers. He was the head of the Delft artists' guild twice. But he was more involved in his actions as an art dealer, because he needed to support his own family. Interior subjects were his specialty. Those were illustrated for the members of the aristocratic and upper-middle class members of society. Those paintings showed single figures of women, caught up in some ordinary and everyday activity.

A microscopic observation of objects was evident in his interiors, combined with a thorough illustration of the progressions of daylight on different shapes as well as surfaces. 'View of Delft', 'Young woman reading a letter' and 'Allegory of painting' were the masterpieces from Johannes. Those three paintings were his most characteristically multifarious work, though they were found non dated. He was also influenced by some foreign elements.

The great Dutch painter was never appreciated when he was alive. In the year of 1886, Thore distinguished his works with the attribution of 76 paintings of Johannes's. Later the numbers of his works was fixed at 30-35 by the authorities while he was proclaimed as one of the greatest painters of all time. He died on 15th of December in the year of 1675 in his native land Delft.
