What Does Rebel Mean?

Answer Question

8 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

A rebel is a person who retaliates against a system through his actions or voicing his opinions publicly in one forum or another. There are several different types of rebels, some can be anarchists, some can be nihilists, even the art form dadaism whose founder was Salador Dali is a form of rebellion against the cold rationality that persisted in the post world war era. Our rebellions are born through a sense of perceived injustice, lack of impartiality or existence of inequitable systems that oppress masses in one form or another. Our sense of ethics, morality and our knowledge of self and personal rights and freedoms have also evolved through rebellions over ages. If necessity were the mother of invention then discontent most definitely must be the father of progress. To progress we have to be critical about existing systems and encourage changes, only then can we have a better world for all.
