What Are The Potential Problems In Using Paypal?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Some of the potential problems in using Paypal might not be too obvious in the beginning.  Paypal is not a bank, so they are not regulated by banking codes and practises, which means they can treat you badly and you've got little redress via the traditional structures.  They also can take your money if they THINK you are doing anything wrong and you signed up to agree to that when you opened your account.  It will also take an act of God or the will of a court judge to get you that money back again.

When payments clear, they can be uncleared or reversed by Paypal later, which means you could send something away and the person receives it but you lose the money.

Of course it is a good system, but they charge you for receiving money and they charge you for taking it away from them. Also, they allow ECheques, which are a bloomin, blinkin nightmare.
