Does Washington DC Belongs To Virginia Or Maryland?

Washington DC is not in a state by the way. DC stands for District of Colombia and it is carved from Virginia and Maryland, but it is not within either of these.

Washington DC is a state all its own. It has its on state government. It became the United States Capital on June 11, 1800.

Washington belongs to Maryland it can't be in Virginia because west Virginia would have to be first state before you get to Washington DC.
