Liverpool have won the FA cup on seven different occasions, the most recent against West Ham Utd, at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, in 2006. Liverpool eventually winning on penalties 3-1 after the sides were drawing 3-3 after extra time.
It was the second time the reds had won the FA cup in Wales, after beating Arsenal 2-1, in the 2001 final, with two dramatic late goals from England star Michael Owen.
Liverpool also won the trophy in 1992, when they beat Sunderland two nil at Wembley. In the eighties Liverpool twice beat their local rivals Everton in FA cup finals, once in '89, when they won by three goals to two, and also in '86, when they recorded a 3-1 win.
